Bolsonaro and Haddad take turns; thirteen states already know their governors and other news


Bolsonaro and Haddad will play the second presidential round. Jair Bolsonaro, PSL, finished the first round of the presidential elections with 46.03% of the valid votes, with 99% of the polls cleared. Fernando Haddad, of the PT, was the second place in the first round with 29.28% of the votes. Ciro Gomes, of the PDT, was in third place, with 12.47% of the votes. Geraldo Alckmin, PSDB, was in fourth place with 4.76% of the votes. Surprised about voting intentions, Marina Silva finished the first round in eighth place, behind João Amoedo, Cabo Daciolo and Henrique Meirelles, respectively.

Thirteen states elected governors in the first round. Among the states that defined new governors already in the first round (AC, MT, GO, TO, MA, PI, CE, PB, PE, AL, BA, ES and PR), PSB and PT were the parties that elected the most candidates: three states from each party, in front of the DEM, with 2 states. The PSB elected candidates in Pernambuco (Paulo Câmara), Paraíba (João Azevedo) and Espírito Santo (Renato Casagrande). The PT elected the governors in Bahia (Rui Costa), Ceará (Camilo) and Piauí (Wellington Dias). The DEM elected governors in the first round in two states: Goiás (Ronaldo Caiado) and Mato Grosso (Mauro Mendes). In the states where the election for government was for the second round, the PSDB is the party with the most representatives in the disputes, with 6 in total.

MDB, Network and PP elect the largest number of senators. Fifty-four senators, affiliated with 20 parties, were elected. In 2018, the PSDB was reduced to 24 deputies, the smallest party bench since 1994.
